This rubrail is used on all of the new Catalina Capri dinghys including the Capri 14.2 and Capri 16.5. Sometimes, especially if you bump a dock, piling, or another boat, more cushion than the original hard plastic trim provided is advantageous. This rubrail is used on all new Catalina Capri dinghys to provide this extra protection.
It is suitable for use as a replacement for the early tan, hard plastic trim. The early trim, now typically weathered to a dull, chalky white was installed at the factory by capturing one leg of the "U" channel into the bond between the hull and deck. It is not removable and is no longer available but can be replaced (covered) with this new product.
Kit includes all of the pop rivets and backing plates needed to secure the gray rubrail to the boat. A white vinyl insert hides the fasteners and provides a finished look.
