This riser arm (also referred to as a hatch adjuster) is used on the aluminum framed midship hatch found on some models of the Catalina 30 and Catalina 320. The complete hatch is our part number Z2939. It may also be found supporting the lid of rectangular hatches found elsewhere on the boat. Check the additional photos below carefully to ensure that this is the correct part. This will work with the new style hatch dogs, see our part number Z2812.
The stainless tube is 3/8" diameter X 14-1/2" long. Not all hatches use this length tube. Smaller hatches may require a shorter tube. Measure your hatch to be sure. If yours is shorter, we can special order a different length for you.
Some larger Catalinas used a similar hatch built by Lewmar but the riser arms are different than the one pictured here.
The Bomar hatch this adjuster fits has the following dimensions:
• Deck Flange Overall: 18-3/16" x 18-3/16"
• Cutout (the opening in the deck): 16-1/2" x 16-1/2"
• Hatch Opening: 15-7/16" x 15-7/16"
When you order a special order item it sets off a chain of events like Willie Wonka in the chocolate factory. Once you turn the valve the chocolate is coming down the pipe. If you then decide you want caramel, the chocolate is still going to come out of the pipe. We can't put the Chocolate back in the pipe, so someone is going to have to eat it, and it's not going to be us! Your order can't be canceled, returned, or magically changed into caramel, so please order carefully the first time!
