The shape of the bilge on these two boats is too narrow for Catalina to use the more common submersible bilge pump. Instead a remote pump was fitted. These are fairly expensive pumps and can typically be repaired by simply replacing all of the rubber components that deteriorate over time. The kit also includes the connecting rod kit which suffers mechanical wear over time.
