Flexible mold used to help facilitate repairs to the non-skid on your boats. Supplied in a 12 inch by 12 inch piece, large enough for most minor repairs due to dings or air voids.
Provided in a female version to match the surrounding non-skid, allowing use of gel coat or gel coat paste for effecting the repair.
Typical procedure:
1) Clean up damaged non-skid by grinding or sanding, removing any loose debris.
2) Apply mold release wax on surrounding good non-skid to help facilitate easier clean up when completed. Note that the mold has had mold release applied at the factory so it should not be need wax unless it has been used previously.
3) Center the 12" x 12" mold over the area to be repaired and adjust until it locks into place with the surrounding good non-skid. Tape down an end and roll back to apply the gel coat.
4) Use catalyzed gel coat paste or gel coat to fill in the damaged area.
5) Slowly flex the mold back down over the non-skid while engaging the non-skid pattern. Use a stiff rubber or plastic spreader to uniformly apply pressure to the back of the backside of the mold to squeeze out any excess gel coat.
6) Allow gel coat to cure before removing the mold. Clean up is accomplished with a an air hose or stiff bristle brush.
