The kit includes new, stronger u-bolts as well as improved angled extruded aluminum backing plates. Additional angled plates are included to better
secure and stabilize the connection between the interior knees an the deck. Finally, two trim pieces are included. A white trim is used for the backing plate in the head compartment. A teak trim is used for the backing plate visible from the main cabin.
In 1979 the 3/8" eyebolts were updated to a 1/2" eye bolt and included the angled backing plates but this interim configuration was still found to be wanting.
If your Catalina 30 was built after 1984 then it will most likely have the these style
chainplates already installed on the boat.
