1) Early spreader design included a plastic spreader end cap inserted into the open outboard end of the spreader. The plastic cap has been eliminated due to frequent failure. The outboard end of the new spreaders are tapered closed, welded at the tip, then notched and drilled to accept the shroud. Upon installation the shroud is secured to the spreader using safety wire.

2) In 2010 Catalina started supplying their boats with Seldén masts and standing rigging. The current production Capri 22 (hulls 1259 and up) are now equipped with Seldén rigs.
