Hatch Adjuster Bomar Right for Hatch

Part #: Z4655
$57.70
This riser arm (also referred to as a hatch adjuster) is used on the aluminum framed forward trapezoidal hatch found on many Catalinas including the Catalina 22, Catalina 25, Catalina 27, Catalina 270, Catalina 30, Catalina 320 and Capri 26. It may also be found supporting the lid of rectangular hatches found elsewhere on the boat. Check the additional photo below carefully to iesure that this is the correct part.
The stainless tube is 3/8" diameter X 13" long. Not all hatches use this length tube. Smaller hatches may require a shorter tube. Measure your hatch to be sure. If yours is shorter, we can special order a different length for you.

Early hatches used a different riser design. Again, see the additional photos below. This newer design will replace that earlier design if it is the correct length. Rather than attaching to the side of the hatch like the newer design, you will attach the new riser into the existing bracket for the old riser mounted to the aft edge of the hatch.

Some larger Catalinas used a similar hatch built by Lewmar but the riser arms are different than those pictured.
When you order this special order item it sets off a chain of events like Willie Wonka in the chocolate factory. Once you turn the valve the chocolate is coming down the pipe. If you then decide you want caramel, the chocolate is still going to come out of the pipe. We can't put the Chocolate back in the pipe, so someone is going to have to eat it, and it's not going to be us! Your order can't be canceled, returned, or magically changed into caramel, so please order carefully the first time!

Caution:
Since rectangular hatches can be mounted with the opening either forward or aft, which part is "right or "left"? Using Bomar's standard, "left" or "right" is when viewed looking into the opening edge of the hatch (not the hinged edge). In the case of a trapezoidal hatch mounted on a Catalina, the opening edge is always forward. Therefore, looking at the forward hatch, facing aft on the outside of the boat, the "right" part (hinge, dog, or riser arm) on the hatch is mounted toward the port side of the boat, the "left" part is to starboard. Remember, a rectangular hatch might be mounted facing either forward or aft. Left or right is relative to the hatch, not the boat.
