Notice the attention to detail at the luff slides of these full batten sails. Both are very robust with extra layers of cloth where necessary for long life.

All sail slides are attached without shackles which tend to wear the slides and cause failures. Any failure that does occur can be easily repaired in minutes while aboard with only sail twine and a needle.

The sail slides on the Catalina 25 and larger are upgraded to all slip slides at the full batten pockets. Those in conjuction with the newer stiffer sail cloth allow the sails to withstand higher loads and along with other features have made flaking the sails go more smoothly.
