Rudder Quadrant Stop

Part #: Z3348
$71.00
The rudder stop mounts to the radial drive wheel to prevent over rotation of the rudder. When installed on a design such as the Catalina 30 (built beginning with hull #4726 in 1986) and the Catalina 28, this part is mounted out of sight on the underside of the radial drive wheel. It is not visible from above.
This part was made from steel until 1989. In 1990 the part was changed to the investment cast stainless steel part that we offer today. Some owners report failure of this part that was only discovered after shards of rusty metal were found in the steering well below the radial drive wheel.

If your boat was built before 1990 and is equipped with a radial drive wheel, this part is worthy of inspection.
This same kit is included loose with purchase of the radial drive wheels listed below in "May we also suggest" and includes two smaller machine screws and nuts for through bolting the radial drive wheel, typically not needed when replacing only your rudder quadrant stop.
