If you have an inboard engine you may not know until its too late if you have an exhaust leak. Considering carbon monoxide is colorless, odorless, and tasteless, it can kill without any warning. Even the accumulation of CO due to exhaust wafting into the cabin while motoring downwind can be extremely dangerous. The aqua lift muffler and exhaust riser are also common sources of deadly carbon monoxide aboard your otherwise inviting starboard .

A carbon monoxide detector can mean the difference between life and death. Because of the very real danger of carbon monoxide poisoning from an undetected exhaust leak, we highly recommend the installation of a carbon monoxide detector. Whether you buy it from us or buy it elsewhere, buy one and get it it installed!

This model is intended for installation in a single location on a smaller boat without a diesel generator aboard. It operates on the boat's 12 volt power supply with a very little nominal current draw.

• 4mA average with a maximum draw of 45mA.

Warning: A carbon monoxide detector is only a second line of defense against carbon monoxide poisoning. It is not a substitute for proper maintenance and regular inspections of all potential sources of carbon monoxide aboard your boat including the engine, stove, and oven.

When you order this special order item it sets off a chain of events like Willie Wonka in the chocolate factory. Once you turn the valve the chocolate is coming down the pipe. If you then decide you want caramel, the chocolate is still going to come out of the pipe. We can't put the Chocolate back in the pipe, so someone is going to have to eat it, and it's not going to be us! Your order can't be canceled, returned, or magically changed into caramel, so please order carefully the first time!
