This traveler replaces your original, cockpit mounted traveler with an improved cabin top mounted traveler. On later Capri 26s the cabin top location became standard as it provides for easier sheeting as well as for a cleaner cockpit.
60 recirculating 1/4" High Load Torlon ball bearings in two upper races support the load on the traveler car without binding. When not under load, the car rolls on 60 recirculating 1/4" Delrin ball bearings in the bottom two races. Control lines and cleats provide mechanical advantage to bring the car to weather. Even under high mainsheet loads, one can trim the traveler car with ease.
Kit includes hard anodized "I" beam extruded aluminum track, hard anodized aluminum extruded car, polished stainless steel risers, control blocks with a 3:1 purchase and cleats. Includes marine grade stainless steel fasteners for attaching track to risers.

1) The railwood locations for the sliding hatch can vary from Capri 26 to Capri 26. Please let us know the dimension measured from the outboard edge of the beginning of the he fiberglass rise to outboard edge of the beginning of the fiberglass rise on the other side. We will custom make the length to fit your boat. Please note the measurement in the comments field at the bottom of the customer information entry form during checkout.
This custom made part is not returnable. Measure carefully before ordering to ensure a proper fit.
2) You must choose whether you want to retrofit the boom with one bail or two boom bails using the drop-down menu above. This changes the style fiddle block with cleat we supply with your kit. Below are details describing the different block / mainsheet configurations.
View the photos at left:
• The block shown with the cleat mounted on the top of the cleat platform is for mainsheets that have a single bail mounted on the boom directly above the traveler. The line is pulled down to cleat the mainsheet. This arrangement was typical for end boom sheeting.
• The block shown with the cleat mounted on the bottom of the cleat platform is for mainsheets that have two bails mounted on the boom, one above the traveler and one aft. The line is pulled up to cleat the mainsheet.
3) As an added safety factor we do require a photo of the deck where the traveler is to be mounted to make sure we can alert of any obvious interference issues. Often times originally positioned rope clutches will need to be relocated aft.
