1) This part can be used as the replacement for the stainless version, which is no longer available.

2) On some models, specifically the Catalina 320, the rudder post would sometimes end up off center in relationship to the access port requiring modification to the locking mechanism to clear the rudder post.

3) The gaskets on these ports are not "O" rings. The manufacturer offers these ports in many different sizes. Sales of each size do not support the cost of tooling for molds to create unique "O" rings for each size port. Instead they use an extruded gasket that is cut to length to fit each size port. The gasket is fitted end-to-end but not glued together so as to preserve the compliant nature of the gasket where the ends meet.
