This is the original equipment stainless steel mast_step for use on all Catalina 22's. It replaces the early aluminum steps which were found to be dangerous due to failures.

This step is also used on the Capri 22 and Capri 18. The loop forward is only used when installed on a Capri 22 with spinnaker gear. The spinnaker pole foreguy may be led through a block shackled to the forward loop.

We also offer the improved mast step pictured below. With newer water jet technology it is possible to create the same functionality with no welds that can fail over time.

In 2010 Catalina started supplying their boats with Selden masts and standing rigging. Current production Capri 18 (hulls 743 and up), Catalina 22 Sport (hulls 15759 and up), and Capri 22 (hulls 1274 and up) are now equipped with Selden rigs.
