In order to save money, we recommend re-using your old halyard shackle and securing it to the halyard with a bowline knot, just as the factory did. If you need new shackles, see the related items below.

Switching from wire to line halyards has several additional advantages:
• Eliminate noise and damage to the mast caused by wire halyards slapping the mast.
• Eliminate fish hooks in the wire that can cause injury.
• Eliminate the wire to line splice that jams at the masthead and prevents the halyard shackle reaching the deck.
• Provides for easier headsail changes in windy conditions. Since the jib halyard shackle can reach the stem, you can hug the pulpit while you secure the shackle to the head of your jib.

This assembly includes:
• Two Dyneema core lines with whip widgets
• Two halyard lift turning blocks for mounting to the deck or through bolting near the base of the mast

The length of this item is based on the original factory specifications. However, the previous owner, like Captain Jack Sparrow, may have had an entirely different idea about how to rig a boat! Please confirm this is the correct length for your particular boat. We cut it from a long length and can't splice it back together again. Your order cannot be canceled, returned or exchanged, but, like Jack, you may have a different idea of what you can use it for!
