1) In 2013 Catalina started supplying their boats with Seldén masts and standing rigging. Current production Catalina 22 Sport (hulls 15759 and up) are now equipped with Seldén rigs. These boats require different mast fittings. If your boat has a Seldén rig, call our Technical Support at 916/843-1971.
2) You must choose an appropriate
backstay from the choices below to completely renew your
standing rigging. You may need a simple single backstay or you might want an adjustable backstay. Both are offered below. Use the turnbuckle lubricant to prevent thread galling.
3) This is a custom made part. You provide the information we need to build this product for you. Once you order it we are going to build it just for you, just as you asked. We never want to see it again, and no one else wants it either. So be careful and order it correctly the first time because it can't be canceled, returned, or magically changed into something different!
4) A 50% nonrefundable deposit will be billed when your order for this item is accepted. The balance will be billed when the product ships.
5) The masthead trucks for the Catalina 22s are produced from the original patterns configured for the nicopress upper ends of Catalina's production forestays. We recommend using and include rigging toggles with our replacement forestays to allow for the addition of a furler. The toggle acts as a universal joint to prevent wire failure due to fatigue from bending each time you tack.
6) Some have reported interference issues between the toggles and truck, which can be cleared by removing material from the inside vertical surface of the truck and repainting or by grinding down the sides of the toggle. Both components have more than enough material allowing for the minimal removal of material for free rotation of the toggle.
